This is worth celebrating—seven nominations and three wins.

Indeed, it’s a time of celebration for Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo’s “JagunJagun”.

Just last Saturdayat the 2024 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), the epic movie bagged three awards.

The 20th edition of the awards which held on Saturday at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Sheraton, Lagos was anchored by actors Segun Arinze and Joselyn Dumas.

“JagunJagun,” a historical epic by Femi Adebayo, was initially nominated in seven categories: Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Achievement in Costume Design, Achievement in Production Design, Achievement in Makeup, Achievement in Visual Effects, the NFVCB award for Best Nigerian Film, and the Ousmane Sembene award for Best Film in an African Language.

The film ultimately clinched three awards: Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Achievement in Makeup and Achievement in Visual Effects.

The AMAA event attracted a star-studded lineup, including Jackie Appiah, Fred Amata, Rita Dominic, Segun Arinze, Charles Nnojie, Keppy Ekpenyong and Chinedu Ikedieze.
