Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has announced his highly anticipated fifth studio album, 5ive, set to debut in 2025.
In a video shared from his private jet alongside his wife, Chioma, Davido expressed his excitement about the project, describing it as transformative. “In 2025, my fifth album is going to be amazing. It’s gonna change everybody’s lives,” he said joyfully.
The singer confirmed the album title and release plans on December 5, 2024, via Instagram, calling it his most personal work yet. “This one is straight from the heart – my story, my truth, my growth,” O.B.O wrote.
The album’s rollout has already begun with the release of its lead single, “Funds,” featuring Odumodublvck and Chike.
The track samples Brenda Fassie’s iconic 1997 hit Vuli Ndlela, blending nostalgic Afro sounds with Davido’s signature style.
Sharing his excitement for the album, O.B.O said, “This one’s for the dreamers, the go-getters, and everyone chasing what’s theirs! Thank you for riding with me. Let’s make history again!”
