Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has been named among the honourees for the 2026 Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia.
The organisers announced the recognition in an Instagram post on Thursday, praising the singer’s influence on African music and his growing global impact.
“We are proud to announce our Summer 2026 honoree: Davido, Honouring Legacy,” the statement read.
The organisers commended Davido for helping push Afrobeats to international audiences through his music, performances and collaborations.
“Davido has helped bring African music to the forefront of the international stage. Known for his infectious hits, dynamic performances, and cross-cultural collaborations, he has built a sound that transcends borders while staying rooted in his heritage.
“Beyond music, his impact extends into philanthropy and entrepreneurship, inspiring a new generation of artists across the globe,” the organisers added.
The induction ceremony is scheduled to hold on June 1, 2026, near the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

American rapper Ludacris is also expected to be honoured during the event.
Davido, born David Adeleke, rose to prominence after releasing his hit single Dami Duro in 2011.
Since then, he has released several successful tracks including Fall, If, Unavailable and Feel.
The singer has also collaborated with international stars such as Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby and Summer Walker.
In recent years, Davido has earned multiple Grammy nominations and performed at major global events, further strengthening his international reputation.
