House of Representative Minority Leader, Ndudi Elumelu said he and his family members had tested negative to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Elumelu, who made the announcement in a statement on Monday, said that his coronavirus status and those of his family members were ascertained after a period of isolation in London.
He then called on Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila and his other colleagues in the House to ensure they subjected themselves to be tested of the virus.
“Elumelu who was in isolation and his entire family from London, took the coronavirus test and the result confirmed them all negative,” Elumelu’s statement read in part.
The call by Elumelu on his colleagues to subject themselves to be tested, came on the heels of the President Muhammadu Buhari locking down Lagos and Ogun states, as well as as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), over the increasing number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Nigeria.
