Popular clergyman Apostle Johnson Suleman has warned his congregation, urging them to marry within the church and outlining the reasons for his stance.
During a recent sermon, Apostle Johnson Suleman emphasized the importance of unity and shared values in marriage, particularly when both partners come from the same ministry. He further stated that he would no longer officiate or attend weddings where a church member marries someone from another church.
“If you wed somebody outside the ministry, I will not attend the wedding because there’s a lot of daughters in this church and you are looking outside,” Suleman remarked.
The cleric revealed that many marital crises he recently mediated stemmed from unions where members married individuals from other churches.
“The wedding will be conducted; they will wed you, but I will not come. 70% of the crises I’ve handled in the past two months are from people who married girls from outside here,” he explained.
The announcement has sparked discussions about the influence of spiritual alignment on marital harmony and the role of church leadership in personal decisions like marriage.
