The Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP) has refuted recent online claims suggesting that veteran Yoruba actor Olalere OsunPaimo, popularly known as Baba Eda Onile Ola, had passed away.
In a statement released on Saturday and signed by the ANTP National Public Relations Officer, Prince Adejonwo Oluwafemi Femson, the association confirmed that the legendary actor is very much alive and in good health.
“We would like to inform the public that reports circulating on Facebook about the passing of Chief Olalere OsunPaimo (MFR) are false,” the statement read.

The ANTP further revealed, “We have confirmed with Baba Eda Onile Ola’s wife that he is alive and in good health.”
The association also called on the public to be cautious and verify news before sharing, noting that, “Please disregard these false reports and be aware that they are being spread by unscrupulous individuals.”
To prevent misinformation, the ANTP stressed: “We urge everyone to verify information before sharing to avoid spreading misinformation.”
This clarification assures fans that one of Nigeria’s most revered theatre and film icons continues to enjoy good health.
