Nigerian singer B-Red has spoken about his family’s involvement in politics, insisting that his father, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, and other members of the family are not driven by financial interests.
The singer made the remarks while appearing on the Echo Room podcast, where he discussed his father’s political career and the possibility of him eventually becoming Nigeria’s president.
According to B-Red, the Adeleke family has accumulated enough wealth across generations and therefore has no need to rely on political positions for financial gain.
He maintained that his father and other relatives entered politics primarily because they wanted to contribute to society and assist people.
“If my dad, Governor Ademola Adeleke, becomes the President of Nigeria, things will improve drastically. We don’t need politics for money; we have been rich for a long time. My family is only in politics to help. But I don’t want my dad to be President because the pressure will be too much,” he said.
B-Red also expressed confidence in his father’s ability to make a significant difference if he eventually occupies Nigeria’s highest political office.
However, despite his belief that the country could benefit from his father’s leadership, the singer admitted that he would personally prefer him not to pursue the presidency because of the enormous pressure attached to the position.

The Adeleke family has maintained a notable presence in Nigerian politics over the years. The family has produced two prominent politicians who served as governors and senators of Osun State — the late Isiaka Adeleke and his younger brother, Ademola Adeleke, the incumbent governor.
The family’s influence also extends into Nigeria’s entertainment industry through Afrobeats star Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke.
Several members of the wider Adeleke family have also been involved in politics and public administration, with some holding positions within the current Osun State government.
