Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has encouraged emerging filmmakers to remain committed to their ambitions, saying her latest career milestone should serve as motivation for the next generation of creatives.
Akindele announced on Monday that her forthcoming movie, The Four: No One Fights Alone, would have its UK premiere on November 29 at ODEON Luxe Leicester Square in London.
The screening will make it the first Nollywood production to premiere at the 791-seat cinema, a development the actress described as a significant moment for the Nigerian film industry.
In a post on X, she expressed excitement over the achievement but said its greatest value to her was the possibility of encouraging young people who hope to build careers in filmmaking.
“One of the things that means the most to me is knowing there are young creatives out there who look at my journey and say, ‘I can do this too.’ To every up-and-coming Nollywood filmmaker, please don’t give up on your dreams. I hope the work we’re doing today gives you a platform to tell your own stories and take them even further,” she wrote.

Following its London premiere, The Four: No One Fights Alone is scheduled to open in cinemas across Nigeria on December 11.
