Comedians Ayobami Ajewole, popularly known as Woli Agba, and Olamide Oladimeji, also known as Dele Omo Woli, have threatened legal action against individuals and media platforms allegedly spreading claims linking them to the death of gospel minister Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, better known as Toluwanisings.
Woli Agba made this known in a public notice shared on his Instagram page on Sunday, where the entertainers’ lawyers, Gemgold Solicitors, warned against the publication or circulation of what they described as defamatory allegations.
The legal notice, dated October 23, 2026, stated that the claims were false, unsubstantiated and allegedly intended to damage the reputation of the two comedians.
The lawyers said their clients had become aware of online publications and broadcasts containing allegations that they described as malicious and capable of exposing the entertainers to public ridicule and hostility.
“Our Clients’ attention has been drawn to certain defamatory publications and online broadcasts containing false, baseless, and malicious allegations against them. These publications appear calculated to tarnish our Clients’ hard-earned reputations, expose them to public ridicule, and incite hostility against them.
“We state categorically that these allegations, particularly those falsely associating our Clients with the demise of Toluwanisings, are entirely false, unsubstantiated, and unfounded,” the notice partly read.
Gemgold Solicitors warned that anyone involved in originating, publishing, forwarding or endorsing the alleged defamatory content could be held liable, regardless of whether the material was first posted from an anonymous or untraceable account.
“Anyone who originates, publishes, forwards, or endorses defamatory material is equally liable under the law,” the lawyers stated.
They urged members of the public to stop circulating or supporting what they described as unverified allegations concerning Woli Agba and Dele Omo Woli.
Those who had already shared the disputed material on their personal accounts, blogs or social media platforms were also advised to delete the publications.
The lawyers said the comedians had reserved their rights to pursue legal remedies against individuals and media outlets that continued to circulate the allegations.
“Any individual, blog, media platform, or social media user who continues to publish, re-circulate, or broadcast false and defamatory content against our Clients will face swift legal action, including claims for substantial damages and injunctive relief under applicable civil and criminal laws,” the notice added.

The solicitors also called on the public to verify information before sharing it, stressing the need for responsible communication and respect for individuals’ dignity.
The development comes amid controversy surrounding the circumstances of Toluwanisings’ death and online claims involving several gospel personalities, including singer Tope Alabi.
Alabi has also taken steps to challenge allegations linking her to the deaths of Toluwanisings and other gospel ministers.
Her lawyers, Oakmount Legal Practitioners, issued a cease-and-desist letter dated October 24, 2026, to a Canada-based pastor identified as Tayo Kumuyi, also known as Pastor Tayo Ministries.
The lawyers demanded the removal of publications allegedly linking Alabi to the deaths and called on the operators of the Facebook page, Pastor Tayo Ministries, to issue a retraction and apology.
The letter, titled “Cease and Desist: Malicious and Defamatory Publications and Threats Against Our Client,” was described as a final notice and gave the page operators 24 hours to comply.
