The Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) has directed eligible retirees under the Defined Benefit Scheme to undergo an online verification exercise from October 26 to November 25, 2026.
The exercise is for retired heads of service and permanent secretaries, as well as pensioners registered under the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) and the Civil Service Pension Office (CSPO).
The commission’s Director-General, Babalola Obilana, announced the exercise in a notice urging all affected pensioners to complete the process before the deadline.
LASPEC said the verification was intended to update pensioners’ records and establish their continued eligibility for benefits under the Defined Benefit Scheme, which operates on a Pay-As-You-Go basis.
It stressed that the exercise would be conducted entirely online, warning pensioners not to visit its office for the verification.
Retired heads of service and permanent secretaries are required to use verify.laspec.gov.ng, while TESCOM pensioners should visit verify.tescomlagos.ng. Those under the Civil Service Pension Office are to complete the process through verify.cspo.ng.
According to the commission, pensioners must first complete a two-step login validation using their Oracle number and surname.
After gaining access, they are expected to select the self-service option and follow the instructions provided on the portal.
The process also requires participants to enable their device cameras to take photographs for identity confirmation, submit their Bank Verification Number (BVN) or National Identification Number (NIN), update their personal details and provide information about their next of kin.
LASPEC advised pensioners to check their entries carefully and ensure that all required information was submitted before November 25.
