Nollywood actress Mo Bimpe has shared a personal experience from the period before she became a mother, revealing that she was deliberately left out of gatherings centred around children because she did not have one.

The actress opened up about the experience in a social media post while encouraging women who are currently on the journey to motherhood.

Bimpe recalled being excluded from baby showers, naming ceremonies and children’s birthday celebrations. She said what made the experience more painful was realising that some of the people who kept her away were individuals she knew and cared about.

“There was a time when I wasn’t invited to baby showers, naming ceremonies, children’s birthdays, or anything related to kids,” she said.

She explained that she loved children and wanted to share in the happiness of people around her, rather than be treated with pity or made to feel different because she had not yet become a mother.

Bimpe consequently appealed to people to be more sensitive towards women who are waiting to have children, stressing that being childless should never make anyone undeserving of inclusion or affection.

“Please don’t make it harder by excluding people. A woman without a child is not less deserving of love, friendship, inclusion, or celebration,” she said.

Looking back at her own journey, the actress urged women who are trying to conceive not to lose hope, noting that her circumstances eventually changed.

“There was a time I had no child. Today, I am a mother of triplets,” Bimpe said.

She encouraged women still waiting for motherhood to remain hopeful, using her experience as a reminder that difficult seasons can eventually change.

“The same God who remembered me has not forgotten you,” she added.
