The widow of a teacher reportedly killed during the recent attack on schools in Oyo State has appealed to the government and security agencies to recover her husband’s body for burial.
Mrs Mary Oyedokun made the emotional plea following the abduction of her husband, Mr Michael Oyedokun, a teacher at Community High School, Ahoro-Esiele, during coordinated attacks on schools in Oriire Local Government Area.
The attackers reportedly stormed Community High School, L.A. Primary School, Esiele, and Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota, abducting between 46 and 48 persons, including pupils and teachers.
Public reactions intensified after a video allegedly showing the killing of Mr Oyedokun surfaced online and circulated across social media platforms.
The incident sparked outrage from celebrities, civil society groups and concerned Nigerians, many of whom called for improved security and urgent action against the perpetrators.
In another video obtained on Friday, Mrs Oyedokun appealed in Yoruba to the Federal Government to help retrieve her husband’s remains so he could be buried properly.
“I am begging the government to please recover the body of my husband. I want him to have a burial site for future reference,” she said.

Meanwhile, security operatives have continued efforts to rescue the remaining victims still being held captive by the attackers.
Governor Seyi Makinde had earlier assured residents that both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches were being used to secure the release of the abducted victims.
President Bola Tinubu also condemned the killing, describing the incident as barbaric while promising that security agencies were intensifying efforts to rescue those still in captivity and arrest those responsible for the attack.
