The family of late singer Ifunanya Nwangene, widely known as Nanyah, has released details of her burial arrangements following her passing on January 31, 2026.
Nanyah reportedly died after suffering a snake bite at her residence in Abuja. She was immediately taken to a hospital for medical attention but sadly did not survive.
Her brother, Kingsley Nwangene, made the announcement on Instagram via his handle, @official_kaybaba1, where he shared her obituary and paid a brief tribute, writing, “Till I see you again.”
According to the family, a service of songs will hold on February 10, 2026, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Abule Oshun, Dansa, Lagos, starting at 4 p.m., after which a requiem mass will take place at the same venue by 6 p.m.
The statement further disclosed that, “Ifunanya will be laid to rest in her hometown in Enugu State on February 14, 2026, while a thanksgiving service to celebrate her life and legacy has been scheduled for February 15, 2026.”

In honour of the late Abuja-based singer, the Abuja Metropolitan Music Society Choir organised a tribute concert titled “Tribute and Songs” at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
The choir, which earlier confirmed that her remains had been transported to her father in Enugu State, described her death as a profound loss to the Abuja music community, noting that her impact and contributions would be deeply missed.
