Family members, friends, colleagues and dignitaries have gathered in Lagos to bid farewell to veteran Nollywood actor Olu Jacobs.
The funeral service is being held at This Present House Church in Lekki, where members of the entertainment industry and other guests have assembled to honour the late actor.
Among the dignitaries at the service are Lagos State Deputy Governor, Oba Femi Hamzat; First Lady of Lagos State, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu; and former Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun.
Entertainment entrepreneur Dare Art Alade also attended the ceremony, where he performed his hit song, “Pray for Me”.
The song featured Olu Jacobs and his wife, veteran actress Joke Silva, adding a personal touch to the farewell ceremony.
Another highlight of the funeral was the presentation of Olu Jacobs’ biography by his son, Olugbenga Jacobs, as part of activities marking the actor’s final rites.

The funeral follows a Night of Tributes held on Wednesday at Glover Memorial Hall on Lagos Island, where Nollywood colleagues and other well-wishers gathered to celebrate Jacobs’ life and career.
The event featured tributes, performances and personal accounts from colleagues who reflected on the veteran actor’s contribution to Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
Jacobs died on September 16, 2026, at the age of 84, prompting an outpouring of tributes from actors, filmmakers and other figures across the entertainment industry.
