Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has revealed that she played a key role in the arrest of an employee who allegedly stole three million naira from her business account.
Martins shared the details on Instagram on Tuesday, explaining that she had hired the young man just two weeks prior after he persistently emailed her for a job. He was brought on as her online sales manager, a role that gave him access to her phones, social media accounts, and website.
The actress said the theft was discovered on December 22, following a cooking show she hosted with reality TV star Tacha Akide. She noticed that two million naira had been withdrawn from her bank account, with an additional one million naira transferred days later.
An investigation by her bank reportedly linked the unauthorized transactions to the new employee. Martins explained how she cleverly delayed the suspect, who had started trying to leave her residence under the pretense of being unwell, insisting he stay to complete a charitable cooking project. This allowed the authorities to intervene, and the police subsequently took him into custody.
She also alleged that the employee had created a fake application to send her death threats.

In a video shared by Martins, the suspect is seen being interrogated while sitting on the floor, and another image shows him handcuffed while writing a statement at a police station.
Describing the ordeal, Martins wrote:
“While I was crying over my 2m that was moved from my account by him to his accomplice account, he moved extra 1m and still made sure he deleted the debit notification.
“This was boy that was all over my Email begging for job opportunity and when he was finally given the opportunity to work with me he hacked into my account n stole the first 2m within his first 7 days of working with.
“And while I was busy cooking for Ratels on Saturday he moved another 1m making it a total of 3m.
“Just yesterday when he realized I called out Zenith bank over the fraudulent activities on my account he started forming sick and wanted to leave yesterday morning.
“We had a cooking project and I insisted he stays till we re done cooking for charity yesterday.
“I’m done being good. Going forward, no matter how touching your story is, I’m not taking chances anymore!”
The incident highlights the risks of cyber and internal fraud, even with newly hired staff, and the actress’s quick actions ensured the suspect was apprehended before fleeing.
