Yemi Remi, brother of late actor Segun Remi, popularly known as Chief Kanran, has shared details about the circumstances surrounding his sudden death.

Mr Remi in an interview shared on YouTube said: “He wasn’t sick. The Friday before he died, he went for a church programme and people said he danced so well. He even called me on Thursday and said we’d meet the next day.”

Tragically, that meeting never happened. Yemi added: “It was that Friday that they called me to say that he had died. I now ask what happened. They told me that he slumped in the bathroom. Before they could get to the hospital, he had died.”

Chief Kanran died on August 15. His death was announced by producer Seun Oloketuyi.

He has since been laid to rest. The burial took place on Friday, September 12, at his residence in Beckley Estate, Abule Egba, Lagos.
