The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas (retd.), has revealed that preparations for the state’s 2025 budget are in full swing, with a focus on healthcare, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and job creation.
Ibas made this known on Thursday while receiving a delegation from the Rivers State National Assembly caucus, led by Senator Barinada Mpigi, at Government House, Port Harcourt.
He emphasised that following the Supreme Court’s verdict on the state’s budget, his administration has moved swiftly to draft a new appropriation bill that aligns with the government’s commitment to economic growth and social welfare.
“We have acted swiftly to ensure the budget reflects our priorities in key sectors, and the process is transparent and inclusive,” Ibas stated.
He also highlighted efforts to maintain law and order, assuring residents of a safer and more stable environment for economic activities.
The 2025 budget will place significant emphasis on job creation, investment in technology, and infrastructure development. Ibas called for the support of lawmakers in achieving these goals, stressing that their collaboration is crucial for the state’s progress.
Senator Mpigi, speaking on behalf of the delegation, commended the administrator’s leadership and pledged their support for initiatives aimed at restoring stability and fostering development in Rivers State.
