Actress Yvonne Jegede has spoken out against Pastor Femi Lazarus following his controversial remarks about women’s menstrual cycles that triggered widespread criticism online.
In a viral sermon, the pastor claimed that mood swings experienced by women during menstruation are caused by their character rather than biological or hormonal changes.
“You are not the first woman to see your period, so your menstruation is not the problem. I have never seen anywhere in the Bible any woman complain about menstrual pain. You are simply not a peaceful person,” he said.
The statement sparked outrage, with many social media users accusing the clergyman of trivialising women’s struggles and showing a lack of understanding about their health.
Responding via her Instagram page, Yvonne Jegede urged men to refrain from making uninformed comments about women’s bodies and experiences, especially concerning issues they cannot relate to.

She wrote: “Yesterday I saw a trending video of a clergyman seemingly trivialising menstrual pain.
“If you’ve never experienced the hormonal changes that women go through during their periods, ovulations and pregnancy, please don’t make bold statements about things you haven’t experienced. Men please be kind.”
