Nollywood actress Yetunde Bakare has hit back at critics who questioned her reaction to the leaked audio involving actress Toyin Abraham and a fan.
The controversy followed the circulation of an audio recording in which Abraham was heard speaking with a fan who had allegedly been insulting fellow actress Funke Akindele.
Following the emergence of the recording, actress Regina Chukwu criticised the practice of secretly recording people’s conversations in a social media post.
Bakare commented on Chukwu’s post, saying, “It’s 2 ways. I have so much to say about this but not today”.
The comment subsequently drew reactions from social media users, with some accusing the actress of taking sides in the ongoing controversy.
Bakare has now addressed the criticism, questioning why she was being attacked simply for openly supporting someone.
She also challenged those claiming that she enjoyed seeing people involved in conflicts, asking how they could know her feelings or thoughts.

“So my crime is supporting someone with my full chest? Imagine saying I’m always happy when they’re fighting, as if you live with me, or you can read my mind, or I carry banned dey dance around?
How did you know I’m happy? This is not witchcraft?

Bakare’s response adds to the reactions surrounding the leaked recording, which has continued to generate discussion among social media users.
The actress maintained that her decision to support someone should not be interpreted as evidence that she takes pleasure in conflicts involving others.
