Omowunmi Tunde-Obe, also known as Wunmi Obe, has been appointed executive director, business development and innovation of Punch Nigeria Limited.

A statement by the media organisation’s management said Mrs Tunde-Obe’s appointment takes effect on January 1, 2025.

The University of Lagos philosophy graduate is a multi-talented creative professional, entrepreneur and corporate leader with over two decades of experience in the arts, advertising, beauty and culinary industries.

Before her new appointment as executive director, the 55-year-old was a non-executive director, contributing her expertise to corporate governance, strategic planning and innovation.

Wunmi Obe started her career as a copywriter at LTC/JWT Advertising, where she worked on campaigns for prominent brands such as Coca-Cola, Guinness, Unilever, Cadbury and others for many years.

She later delved into entrepreneurship, founding KOPYKATS & Associates Limited, a freelance copywriting and production firm; United Hairways Beauty Company and Iya Ibadan Local Cuisine & Foods.

On the entertainment scene, Wunmi has made a significant impact alongside her husband Tunde Obe, both of whom are jointly known as T.W.O.

They both featured on The Charly Boy Show while Wunmi starred in the late Amaka Igwe TV soap opera Tempest – A Tale of 2 Women.

Married since 1998, Wunmi and husband have three children and have released five studio albums.

The new executive director is the daughter of the late founder of PUNCH Newspapers Olu Aboderin and the younger sister of incumbent chairman Angela Emuwa.
