The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has told those who work in Lagos State but reside in his state to forget about returning to work when the easing of the lockdown announced by President Muhammadu Buhari becomes effective on Monday.
Abiodun said this on Saturday against the backdrop of the one week extension of the lockdown in Ogun
Writing on Facebook on the latest guidelines by the state for the easing of the lockdown, the Governor said: “There is a total ban on interstate travel (outside Ogun).
“If you work in Lagos or any other state but you live in Ogun State, you are not allowed to go to Lagos or any other state and return to Ogun.”
Abiodun said the lockdown in the state ends on May 10.
He said this followed the one week grace the state was granted by the Federal Government when the initial lockdown was announced by President Buhari.
While announcing that the use of face masks becomes mandatory in the state from May 4, the Governor said: “All schools remain closed, while students will continue with their DigiClass.
“All essential service personnel will continue to work despite the lockdown.
“All public religious gatherings remain banned. All pubs, clubs, stadia, public pools, spas, gyms, salons, etc. and all assemblies of more than 15 people remain banned. Restaurants may open on the approved days for take-out meals only.
“Burials and naming ceremonies are allowed but there must not be more than 15 people including the officiating ministers.
