Woman Arrested For Brutally Assaulting Her Son In Rivers

Mariam Stephen, 37, has been held by the Rivers State Police Command after claims of continuous attacks on her son Covenant led to her detention.

Harrison Gwamnishu, a human rights activist, responded immediately away to a complaint on his Facebook page and made the arrest.

Harrison Gwamnishu said on Instagram yesterday night that he learned of the upsetting instance of child abuse on Sunday, July 30 in the evening. The Rivers State Team, under the leadership of Comrade Adebayo Steve, acted quickly and arrested Mariam Stephen in relation to the alleged attacks on her son, Covenant.

He composed;

‘’Our Rivers State Team, commanded by Comrade Adebayo Steve, sprung into action last evening in response to a child abuse allegation that was filed on Facebook. Mariam Stephen, 37, was quickly taken into custody for repeatedly assaulting her son Convenant.

She is being held in custody at Special Area Rumukoro Police Station in Portharcourt and will be charged in court as soon as the inquiry is over.
