A woman has reportedly been killed by a man who took her to a hotel in Girei, an urban community close to Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
The victim, whose identity had yet to be fully established as of the time of filing the report, was allegedly beheaded inside the hotel room by the man.
The incident reportedly occurred on Friday afternoon after the pair were heard having a heated argument inside the room where the suspect had lodged.
A source familiar with the incident said the noise from the room attracted the attention of people nearby, who became concerned after hearing what sounded like a struggle.
The source said members of the public eventually forced their way into the room, where they reportedly found the woman in a pool of blood with a severe injury around her neck.
The suspect was apprehended at the scene and handed over to the police, who arrived shortly afterwards to take control of the situation.

The woman’s remains were subsequently removed from the hotel.
The Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer, who was contacted shortly before 7:30pm on Friday, confirmed the incident.
The police are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death and establish the identity of the victim as well as the motive behind the alleged killing.
