Popular singer and music executive, Wizkid, has opened up on how he’s been coping since he lost his mother, Juliana Morayo Balogun.
Recall the award-winning artiste lost his mum to the cold hands of death on August 18, 2023.
The family held funeral service on October 12, for her which had a good number of friends and colleagues in attendance.
Speaking on life after her passing, the Starboy Entertainment founder admitted that life has become meaningless without her.
But the crooner who was close to his dear mum, added that sometimes it is good to let everything go, hence why he will move on regardless of how he feels.
Taking to Instastories, the ‘Joro’ crooner wrote; “Made idk days after I lost my mum. Life’s been meaningless! But we dey. Sometimes you got to let everything go… Work with God.”
Similar, during the funeral, Wizkid, who gave a heartfelt speech amid sobbing, said he is lost without his mother and he loves her dearly.
“I’m lost without you, Mom. I love you so much. I love you”, he said.
The 33-year-old said her death has created a huge grief and pain in his heart which is a feeling he has never experienced before.
A video from the memorial service showed him praying fervently and asking God to give him and his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Big Wiz also expressed gratitude to people who showed up to offer moral support and was thankful to his family for sticking with each other through the difficult time.
“The pain is deep, I’ve never felt this pain in my life”, said Wizkid who was with his partner, Jada Pollock and their son, Zion.
