Rap icon Nicki Minaj has shed more light on her outspoken support for President Donald Trump, saying public hostility toward the American leader has only pushed her to stand by him more firmly.
The Trinidadian-born rapper spoke on Wednesday, confidently describing herself as Trump’s most devoted supporter. She explained that backlash and negative commentary directed at the billionaire president do not discourage her, but instead inspire her to defend him even more passionately.
Minaj’s remarks came shortly after President Trump invited her on stage following her endorsement of “Trump Accounts,” an initiative aimed at creating trust funds for children.
“I will say that I am probably the president’s number one fan, and that’s not going to change,” she said.
“And the hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more.”

The 43-year-old rapper also made it clear that she would not tolerate what she described as attempts to intimidate or undermine the president, insisting she would continue to speak in his defence whenever necessary.
“He has a lot of force behind him and God is protecting him. Amen,” she added.
