Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, recently explained why he no longer employs female secretaries.
Speaking during a sermon, he revealed that the long hours of his ministry, often stretching late into the night, influenced his decision.
“From the moment I got to a stage where, at night, I still have to work, I ceased to have a female secretary. Some people think it is gender discrimination,” he said.
He emphasized that the move was driven by safety concerns, given the risks of being alone with members of the opposite gender during late-night work sessions.

“I know who I was before Jesus saved my soul. I know the possibility of dangers being left alone at night with people of the opposite sex,” Pastor Adeboye added.
The cleric also paid tribute to his former female secretary, commending her dedication and godly character. “But if we are to get a secretary like the last one I had, she was a wonderful child of God. She was my secretary at Evite Metta, a wonderful lady, true child of God,” he said.
