The US President, Donald Trump on Friday announced that new CDC guidance will classify houses of worship as “essential,” as he called on governors to allow them to open “right now.”

Trump announced the policy for churches, synagogues and mosques, during a briefing at the White House. “If they don’t do it, I will override the governors. In America, we need more prayer, not less,” he warned.

The USA currently has the highest number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the world at over 1.5 million. The country also has the highest fatality rate by far of any country at 100,000 deaths.
