Nigerian music star Adekunle Gold has corrected widespread reports claiming that he and his wife, Simi, welcomed twins, stating that the couple actually had a baby boy.
The clarification came during an appearance on Great Day Houston, a morning television show aired on KHOU 11 in Houston, Texas.
While speaking during the interview, the show host mentioned reports that the couple had “welcomed twins in early March,” prompting an immediate reaction from the singer.
“Not even twins. That’s the internet, by the way. We have a son,” he said.
Adekunle Gold, who already has a daughter with Simi, also opened up about their marriage and creative relationship as musicians.
“It’s interesting to be married to another fantastic songwriter. We bounce off ideas in the home,” he said.
He further revealed that their six-year-old daughter is already showing interest in music.
The singer also discussed his latest project, Fuji Xtra, which he said was released the same night as the interview.

According to him, his sound is now centred around “electrofuji,” a blend of fuji rhythms and modern musical elements.
Speculation about the birth of twins had spread online earlier this year after the singer shared a Snapchat post that read: “Asked God for another child and He blessed me double,” alongside a photo of two baby outfits labelled “Double Trouble.”
