Nigerian musician, Omawumi, has said her friend and colleague, Waje, cannot quit music.
The 36-year-old singer made this known via an Instagram post on Tuesday.
“My Dear Friend turned Sister, the conversation we had concerning this recent video, we had it in private. But I want to use this medium to tell you. I can relate 100%.
“I am thankful for your love and support and being the strong woman that you are. I know you cant quit nothing! And leave me alone in this industry? Mbanu! No it’s not her birthday, SHE IS…My Besto so I can celebrate her anytime I want,
” she wrote
Waje revealed in a video posted on her YouTube account that the music business is draining her resources and leaving her frustrated.
In the 12 minutes clip, she lamented the backlash and poor acceptance of her last album, Red Velvet, adding that music wasn’t making money for her and she needed to try other things.
Waje co-produced a movie, She Is, with friend and colleague, Omawumi, the movie opened in cinemas all over Nigeria from March 22. She released recently a video complaining about her margin of profitability in the music industry.
