The United States Embassy in Abuja and the Consulate General in Lagos will be closed from Wednesday, December 23, to Friday, December 26, 2025, the missions announced.

An official notice shared on the US Mission’s X handle on Tuesday stated that normal operations at both locations will resume on Monday, December 29, 2025.

During this period, routine consular services will not be available, and members of the public have been urged to plan their visits and applications accordingly. The embassy did not provide additional details regarding the reason for the temporary closure.
