The International Conference Centre, Accra, Ghana became a beehive of activities on November 24, 2018 as celebrities from all walks of life graced the prestigious All Africa Music Awards ceremony, AFRIMA.
The first edition in Ghana (AFRIMA has organized five editions with four previous editions which held in Lagos, Nigeria), it proved once again to be ‘Africa’s Grammy Awards’.
A music property developed to celebrate, reward and showcase the rich musical culture of Africa, AFRIMA has indeed stimulated conversations among Africans and between Africa and the rest of the globe about the great potential and values of the African culture and artistic heritage for the purpose of creating jobs, reducing poverty, calling attention of world leaders to Africa and promoting the positive image of Africa to the world.
Among super stars who were present at the August events, who also presented awards to winners were African music icon, Innocent Ididbia aka Tuface, Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Ghanaian actress Jackie Appiah, actor/filmmaker Kunle Afolayan and many others.
Entertaining guests during the ceremony, Tuface who sang his hit song, “Amaka Disappoint Me” threw the guests up from their seats as they sang along with him.
To also entertain at the opening session was Mr Real, whose popular song, ‘Legbegbe’ is almost becoming an anthem in Africa!
