Heavy traffic disrupted the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Saturday morning after a truck overturned, blocking one of the lanes.
The mishap occurred near the Ogere Bridge, affecting motorists travelling towards Ibadan, Saapade, Alapako, and nearby areas. Reports say that as drivers tried to maneuver into the remaining lane, traffic heading towards Lagos, Mowe, Ibafo, and other parts of the corridor also became severely congested.
At the time of reporting, both lanes of the expressway remained obstructed, leaving many commuters stranded for hours. Sources indicate the incident happened late Friday evening.

Personnel from the Nigeria Police Force and the Federal Road Safety Corps were dispatched to the scene to manage the situation and restore traffic flow.
Some officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to speak to the media, suggested that the accident may have been caused by a mechanical fault in the truck. Efforts were reportedly underway to reopen at least one lane to ease the gridlock.
