The Election Petition Tribunal in Kaduna State has declared the 2023 governorship election inconclusive and has ordered fresh elections to be conducted in seven wards across four local government areas in the state.

The tribunal’s decision resulted in the removal of Governor Uba Sani of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The petition against Governor Sani’s victory was filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Isa Ashiru, who claimed irregularities and electoral fraud in the election.

The tribunal ruled in favor of the PDP and ordered a re-run election in seven wards, four local governments, and 24 polling units consisting of 16,300 registered voters.
