That she ran naked to the Nigerian Embassy in Ghana and filed a police report of Domestic Violence were some of the revelations tendered by Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh in a video interview she granted an online style magazine, Media Room Hub.
Pity coupled with loads of support for the Nollywood actress, trailed this interview.
But a cross section of Ghanaian journalists were at the Accra based police station to verify these claims made by Tonto Dikeh.
Supt. Joseph Oppong, Crime Officer at the Madina Divisional Police, revealed in a 26-minute video that the Nollywood actress misled the public on the incident that happened in 2015.
First, she never went to the embassy naked as she claimed. However, when the case was reported, Tonto was said to have been arrested while damaging properties in their Ghana home, the Crime Office contacted the embassy to inform them and sent a female officer to accompany her.
The Ghanaian officer who is in charge of the case refuted claims that it was a case of domestic violence. That the actress misbehaved and their neighbours confirmed she came in with a bottle of Vodka by 3am, possibly drunk as she destroyed properties worth over $15,000 which she also consented to in her written statement.
In the interview the Supt. Joseph Oppong shockingly revealed that Tonto Dikeh almost gunned down one of the house-helps who tried to restrain her from damaging valuables.
Joy TV pressed on for their viewers to know if Mr. Churchill Oladunni should have a gun, and the officer buttressed that it was a licenced pump action which Tonto Dikeh broke the husband’s safe to get. It was said that it was the timely intervention of the Police team that saved a life as the husband was not in the house as at the time of the havoc.
The case was said to have been withdrawn by the estranged husband in 2015.
