It’s still celebration in Toke Makinwa’s camp and anyone who says or posts otherwise would definitely come under fire.
An Internet troll got what she deserved just after Toke Makinwa flaunted baby bump on Wednesday. Many celebrities laid curses on her for insinuating artificial pregnancy or surrogacy on the video displayed by Toke.
Among such celebs were Nollywood actresses Funke Akindele; Toyin Abraham, and afrobeats singer Tiwa Savage. They all rose in defence of Toke Makinwa
The lady left the comment under Toke’s pregnancy announcement post on Instagram on Wednesday, writing, “Why do I feel it is artificial and low key a surrogate, but however I’m feeling congratulations to her.”
Funke fired back, calling the commenter “Oloriburuku,” while Tiwa advised her to take down the remark, saying, “You should probably delete your comment. Please just delete.”
Actress Toyin Abraham also lashed out, writing, “Some of you will suffer from your generation till your last generation. Egun oni kuro lori e, Abasha yamayama.”
Comedian Real Warri Pikin, who is also expecting, condemned the recurring surrogate speculation targeted at female celebrities.
“Una don start. My belle na surrogate, Priscilla’s own surrogate, now Toke’s own too, surrogate. Do you think public figures nor get womb? Abi wetin. What is really going on?” she wrote.
The wave of celebrity support came after Toke, 40, took to Instagram and shared a cinematic video which announced her first baby bump.
In an emotional caption, Toke described the experience as “the biggest project of my life, the highest calling ever,” adding that the journey had deepened her faith in God.
“2025… What a difference a year can make. Dear God, you did this one, you have completely changed my life… You make all things beautiful in your time and this is just perfect,” she wrote.
Reflecting on her years of waiting, Toke said the timing was proof that “God can be trusted” and “is never late.”
She told her unborn child, “I cannot wait to meet you… the greatest reflection of God’s grace… the answer to my prayers.”
