The announcement of the birth of Toke Makinwa’s baby marked the climax of her weeks of video/photo sharing on her pregnancy journey which was initially kept away from the public. Though news filtered into town that she was delivered of the baby about a month ago in the United Kingdom, Toke didn’t reveal who fathered her newborn.
Her baby’s name is Yakira Eliana. That’s what society gal cum media personality Toke Makinwa revealed as she announced the birth of her first child, a baby girl.
The 40-year-old shared the good news on Thursday via her Instagram handle with a photo of her newborn’s hand holding hers.
“I’m a Mommy💕…… This is the happiest I’ve ever been.
My precious daughter, the love I never knew existed, my heart in another human being, my love,” she wrote.
Toke added, “I have seen the goodness of God in my life time, I have seen God move and I no longer just hear of it, I see it. It ended in praise, My miracle is here.
“Yakira Eliana, Olakitan, Iyanuoluwa, Ikeoluwa, Adunola. My purpose, my reason, my evidence. Thank you for choosing me, thank you for making me a Mother.
“My hearts overflows with so much gratitude.
God heard, God answered.
Every single detail, down to your fingers and toes oh he heard my prayers.

The announcement comes weeks after Toke revealed she was pregnant.
In mid-August, she debuted her baby bump on Instagram, describing the experience as “the biggest project of my life” and “the highest calling ever.”
She wrote, “You opened this door that nobody can shut… All that time I was convinced you had forgotten me… now I see it.”
“I’ve worn so many hats over the years but this one trumps them all… You get to see me as a mother, I get to raise my own,” she added.
Addressing her unborn child, she said, “my bug, you’ve made me the happiest person on earth, baby, thank you.”
Toke, who turned 40 last November, is one of Nigeria’s most popular media personalities. She is known for her work as a radio and TV host, YouTuber, actress, entrepreneur and author of the best-selling memoir ‘On Becoming.’
Her fans have since flooded her comment section with congratulatory messages.
The child’s father remains unknown.
