President Bola Tinubu has directed the deployment of a specialised security team equipped with advanced rescue capabilities to strengthen efforts aimed at securing the release of pupils and teachers abducted from schools in Ogbomoso, Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The directive was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.

According to the statement, Tinubu also approved the recruitment of 1,000 forest guards in partnership with the Oyo State Government to support ongoing search-and-rescue operations and improve security in the affected areas.

To reassure residents and assess the situation, a federal government delegation visited the Esiele and Yawota communities in Oriire LGA on Sunday, where the President’s directives were communicated to community members.
