President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has put forward Abbas Balarabe as the ministerial replacement for former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

This announcement was made through a letter read by Senate President GodsWill Akpabio during a plenary session on Tuesday.

The nomination of Abbas Balarabe was presented alongside the nominations of Dr. Jamila Ibrahaim and Ayodele Olawande as Minister of Youths and Minister of State for Youths, respectively, all of which were earlier submitted by the president.

The Senate is now tasked with the responsibility of screening and confirming these three nominees as ministers.

If they are confirmed, this will increase the total number of ministers nominated by President Tinubu to 48.
