President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Paris, France, as he continues the second leg of his three-week annual leave in Europe, officials close to the President told The PUNCH on Sunday.
The President was received by Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Ayodele Oke, upon his arrival, according to visuals made available to The PUNCH.
Tinubu left Abuja on Sunday, August 30, 2026, to begin his three-week vacation in Europe. He first travelled to London before moving on to Paris for the next phase of his holiday.
At the time of his departure, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, announced the trip in a statement titled ‘President Tinubu Begins Three-Week Leave.’
Onanuga had said the President would return to Abuja at the end of his leave and join preparations for the January 2027 general election.
Tinubu’s holiday began shortly after the All Progressives Congress released its Presidential Campaign Council list. The list named Tinubu as chairman and Vice President Kashim Shettima as vice chairman.
The President’s latest trip also takes him back to a city he has visited frequently since assuming office in May 2023.
Records compiled by The PUNCH show that Tinubu has travelled to Paris at least 13 times since becoming President, spending more than 50 days in the French capital across official, working and private engagements.

A broader tally of his foreign trips by The PUNCH indicates that Tinubu has spent more than 270 days outside Nigeria since May 2023.
The President has visited at least 30 countries during 51 unique and recurring foreign trips, according to the newspaper’s record.
His international travels have also covered approximately 260,000 nautical miles, while his flights have accumulated more than 400 hours in the air.
