Tinubu Appoints 20 New Federal Commissioners To NPC

President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of 20 new federal commissioners to the National Population Commission (NPC). In addition, nine current Federal Commissioners have been reappointed for a second term in office. This announcement was made through a statement released by Tinubu’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale.

The nine current Federal Commissioners who have been reappointed for a second term are:

  1. Dr. Clifford Zirra (Adamawa)
  2. Mr. Chidi Christopher Ezeoke (Anambra)
  3. Barr. Isa Audu Buratai (Borno)
  4. Dr. Tony Aiyejina (Edo)
  5. Mr. Ejike Ezeh (Enugu)
  6. Mr. Abubakar Damburam (Gombe)
  7. Prof. Uba Nnabue (Imo)
  8. Sen. Mudashiru Hussain (Osun)
  9. Mr. Saany Sale (Taraba)

The new Federal Commissioners appointed to the NPC are:

  1. Hon. Emmanuel Trump Eke (Abia)
  2. Dr. Jeremiah Ogbonna Nwankwegu (Ebonyi)
  3. Mr. Olakunle Sobukola (Ogun)
  4. Hon. Temitayo Oluseye Oluwatuyi (Ondo)
  5. Hon. Yori Afolabi (Kogi)
  6. Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa (Kano)
  7. Ms. Sa’adatu Dogon Bauchi Garba (Kaduna)
  8. Ms. Mary Ishaya Afan (Plateau)
  9. Mr. Ogiri Itotenaan Henry (Rivers)

The President has charged the new and returning NPC Federal Commissioners with the responsibility to successfully implement all measures taken by his administration to produce and effectively utilize accurate population data. This data is crucial for finding lasting solutions to Nigeria’s socio-political and economic challenges.
