The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that results for candidates who sat for the first day of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be released before midnight on Friday.
The board made this known in a statement issued on Friday and signed by its Public Communication Adviser, Fabian Benjamin.
According to the statement, candidates who participated in the examination on Thursday, April 16, will be able to access their results once processing is completed later in the day.
“This is to inform all candidates who sat for the 2026 UTME on Thursday, 16th April 2026, that their results will be released today before midnight,” the statement read.
JAMB also noted that an official update will be published on its communication platforms once the results are ready for public access.
The 2026 UTME officially began nationwide on Thursday, with more than 2.2 million candidates expected to participate across accredited Computer-Based Test centres between April 16 and April 22.

The examination, regarded as one of the largest standardized assessments in the country, is conducted in multiple sessions daily to reduce congestion and improve monitoring across centres.
Candidates have been advised to regularly check official JAMB channels for timely updates on result release and other examination-related information.
