The family of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba has dismissed reports circulating about the circumstances of her death, describing them as false and unauthorised.
In a statement posted on the actress’ official Instagram page on Thursday, the Awonuga/Osoba family said it was disturbed by the spread of unverified claims on social media and blogs following her passing.
“At this difficult time, we wish to categorically state that the numerous claims circulating on social media and various blogs regarding the circumstances surrounding her death are false, speculative, and entirely unauthorised,” the statement read.
The family urged the public to avoid sharing unconfirmed information, stressing that such reports have only intensified their pain.
“We respectfully urge the public to refrain from sharing or promoting misinformation that only adds to the pain our family is already enduring,” the statement added.
They also appealed for understanding and privacy as they mourn the actress, asking people to allow them to grieve without the distraction of rumours and speculation.
“We kindly ask that everyone allow us the dignity, privacy, and time to grieve without the burden of unfounded rumours and sensational narratives,” the family said.
