Socialite and entrepreneur Sophia Momodu has claimed that she is solely responsible for the financial care of her daughter, Imade, whom she shares with Afrobeats star Davido.
Speaking during an Instagram Live session, Sophia alleged that she handles every expense related to their daughter, insisting she has been the one footing all the bills.
According to her, members of the public should stop believing claims suggesting otherwise.
“You all know I’m the only one my daughter has. This is not about empty claims. Whenever a bill comes, whether big or small, I’m the one who pays it. You all know it is. Stop believing all these empty claims,” she said.
The entrepreneur also addressed ongoing discussions linking her to Davido, urging the singer’s fans to stop associating her with him.
She stated that she has moved on with her life, revealing that she has not had any direct communication with the award-winning musician in the past five years and is currently in a relationship.

Sophia’s comments come more than a year after the former couple became embroiled in a legal dispute over the custody of their daughter.
In 2024, Davido approached the court seeking joint custody of Imade, alleging that Sophia had denied him access to the child and was making financial demands from him. Sophia denied the allegations and opposed the request, arguing that the singer was not fit to have sole responsibility for their daughter, citing several concerns, including the tragic loss of his son.
