American actor Denzel Washington and his wife, Pauletta said “I do” on June 25, 1983 and today they have one of the longest lasting marriages in Black Hollywood.
Mr. and Mrs. Washington have four children, son John David, daughter Katia and twins, Malcolm and Olivia. Denzel praised his wife for always being there for him and their children.
He said, “She has done the heavy lifting. She has been the consistent,” he credited her. “She has given the daily religious instruction.”
Denzel isn’t shy about showering his wife with affection. “I got a good woman — that’s the first thing,” he said. “You just keep working at it.”
Secret of their marriage?
“I just think that you have to work at [marriage].”Not give up on each other. It’s a commitment. It’s not all the honeymoon; it doesn’t last forever, so you work at it. And hopefully you’re good friends first, that might help!”
