“I am pleased to formally announce my intention to contest for Senate, representing the people of the Oyo North Senatorial District in the 2027 elections under the platform of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM),” he wrote.
The former lawmaker described his decision as a renewed commitment to serving the people, promising to bring his experience, dedication and capacity to bear in advancing the interests of communities across the district.
Peller served in the House of Representatives between 2019 and 2023, representing the Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola Federal Constituency of Oyo State.

He previously sought the Oyo North senatorial ticket in the 2023 election under the All Progressives Congress (APC), but lost the party’s primary election to Abdulfatai Buhari.
Buhari subsequently won the senatorial election but later sought the APC governorship ticket in Oyo State.
His decision to pursue the governorship race means he is not expected to seek another term in the Senate in 2027, leaving the Oyo North seat open for a fresh contest.
