Shanko Rasheed’s Wife Breaks Down, Alleges Neglect, Abuse After Son’s Death

The wife of Nigerian singer Shanko Rasheed has made fresh allegations against him, accusing the artiste of abandonment, domestic abuse, and neglect, following the heartbreaking loss of their son, Jamal.

In a viral video, the distressed mother recounted her painful ordeal, claiming she was left alone to cater for their three children after suffering a life-altering accident that left her unable to work.

“Nigerians help me. I had three kids for him. Jamal was our firstborn. I had an accident on October 11 that affected my legs, and this made me jobless,” she said.

She alleged that their financial crisis deepened after their landlord issued a quit notice, forcing her to seek loans to secure accommodation.

“He told me to get him a loan, which he would use to pay rent, and I did. He collected the money and abandoned me. We were eventually chased out of the house, and we had to manage in a church,” she added.

According to her, the singer failed to provide financial support for their children, including neglecting school fees and basic needs.

“Jamal was always sad and thinking. He did not pay the school fees, despite my begging,” she claimed.

Narrating the events leading to Jamal’s death, she said the boy fell gravely ill, vomiting frequently and losing weight, but his father allegedly showed little concern.

“I called the dad, and he said it was not his business,” she said.

She explained that she relied on borrowed funds to pay medical bills and moved Jamal between hospitals as his health worsened. When oxygen support became necessary, she again contacted Shanko for help.

“I asked for N150k for oxygen, and he sent N60k. While I was making payments for his medication, Jamal passed away,” she recounted.

The grieving mother further accused the singer of violent conduct after their son’s death, alleging that he threatened her life at the hospital.

“He accused me of killing Jamal. He brought out a gun and said he would kill me too. People helped me escape,” she claimed.

She also alleged that he later brandished a cutlass and has since taken away their two surviving children, preventing her from seeing them.
