Oluwaseni Saraki, son of former Senate President Bukola Saraki, has made history by winning his first Grammy Award at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. His achievement in the global music industry adds another feather to his cap as an entrepreneur, cultural influencer, and creative force across multiple fields.

Here are eight key facts about Seni Saraki’s journey and accomplishments:

  1. Football Leadership – In 2015, he was appointed Chairman of the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Football Club, an Ilorin-based team competing in Nigeria’s National League.
  2. Academic Excellence – Seni graduated in 2017 from the prestigious London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) after completing his law degree at the Nigerian Law School, Lagos.
  3. Media & Culture Influence – In 2016, he co-founded The Native, a Lagos-based music magazine, alongside Teni ‘Teezee’ Zaccheaus. The platform promotes African music, culture, and art.
  4. NYSC in Abuja – Seni completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 2018 in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
  5. Nike Collaboration – In 2019, he partnered with Nike to create a special-edition jersey under the Nike by The NATIVE line. The jersey, inspired by Adire fabric, featured ‘+234’ (Nigeria’s international dialing code) and the Yoruba word “Ilé” (home) boldly printed on the back.
  6. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Soundtrack – In 2022, he played a crucial role in the Nigerian segment of the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, which received four Grammy nominations and featured Rema, Fireboy DML, Tems, and Burna Boy.
  7. Grammy Win in 2025 – Seni secured his first Grammy for his work on the Bob Marley: One Love soundtrack, which won Best Reggae Album. The project featured Wizkid, Daniel Caesar, Kacey Musgraves, Leon Bridges, Shenseea, Farruko, and Skip Marley, among others.
  8. Music Career as Shane Chubbz – Beyond his contributions to music projects, Seni is also a rapper under the stage name Shane Chubbz, with songs like “Hail Mary” and “Holiday / Where I’m From”.
