Last Thursday, November 16, 2023 will linger in the memories of friends and colleagues of beautiful actress Omowunmi Ajiboye.
Also one of the wives of Nollywood producer cum actor Segun Ogungbe, Wunmi threw a lavish party in Oshogbo, the Osun State capital to mark the final burial of her mum.
The party was a gathering of many Nollywood (Yoruba) actors who also wore the Aso ebi. Among those in attendance were Faithia Balogun, Dayo Amusa, Kemi Korede, Funsho Adeola and many others.
Wunmi’s VIP’s list included Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo, who came with his entourage. Also on the VIP table was hotelier/businessman, Alhaji IB Dende, who also stormed the venue with his entourage.
Wunmi, who is also a movie producer, was all out to please her guests as she paid for the services of Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshal to perform at the event,
That MC Oluomo and entourage were all out to have a swell time was an understatement.
Dressed in the mint green Aso Ebi for VIP guests, they were on the dance floor and sprayed Wunmi with huge naira notes,
Meanwhile, Segun Ogungbe sat calmly with his two sons in a corner of the hall. Dressed in the aso ebi meant for the general guests, he still stood up to spray his wife some naira notes, despite the fact that the musician didn’t acknowledge him all through the event!
As if that wasn’t enough, the host, Wunmi, shared an appreciation post on Instagram and thanked first, MC Oluomo, then IB Dende and finally the third post was for her husband. She captioned it, “Popsy Awon oba❤️ @segunogungbe_ thank you so much for coming sir God will continue to be wit you akanni ade.”
This must have provoked the ire of some of her followers who lambasted her for treating her husband like any other guests.
To them, why should Wunmi thank Segun for attending his mother-in-law’s burial?
One of her followers, @arab_the_leo scolded her and wrote “U can see how stup.D u are Wunmi, so ur husband deserves thanks for coming Abi no be this Segun put u for this acting job u lost it cos of money,where’s Sindodo now? U will learn Oloshi”
Another following with the handle, queen_dacosta1’s wrote, “U are sick,after thanking God almighty for d success of the ceremony,Ur husband should be d next person u should thank,eventhou if u are not together again,he’s d father of Ur kids and he also attended d ceremony but obonrin sowa nu Olorun Oni ori oko ni e, u appreciate Ur concubine first before appreciating Ur husband,beeru Olorun anyway I wnt blame u much na WETIN good for segun be dis,he get wife for house before he do ojukokoro marry you,God catch am now he will learn how to appreciate his first wife too” (sic)
A follower with the handle, ola_midebamidele wrote, “Are you sure this Man called Segun has a Family? He has lost his senses, how on earth will he go to such event… and his family are looking, This is not the Segun Ogungbe use to know, This guy need help, Ogun state People, this is your product, help this man out of depression, he is behaving silly” (sic).

Recall a blog, Gistlovers reported in 2022 about the crash of Segun and Wunmi’s marriage and how the latter moved out of her matrimonial home to one allegedly rented by MC Oluomo. Though Segun tried to debunk it, it didn’t gain ground. Married to two wives, Gistlovers reported that Wunmi walked out of the marriage because her husband could no longer fund her extravagant lifestyle.
