American music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has officially begun serving his prison sentence at a federal correctional facility in New Jersey following his conviction for prostitution-related offenses.
The 54-year-old rapper and producer is currently being held at the Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix — a low-security prison located roughly 130 kilometers (80 miles) south of New York. The facility is noted for its rehabilitation and drug treatment initiatives.
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Diddy is expected to remain there until May 8, 2028. His attorneys had previously requested that he be transferred to this facility to serve the remainder of his four-year, two-month sentence.
Combs was arrested in September 2024 and convicted in July 2025 on two counts of transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution. However, he was acquitted of more severe charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering.

Before the judge delivered his sentence, Diddy made a tearful apology in court, expressing deep remorse for his actions. “I’m truly sorry,” he said, addressing both his family and the victims. He described his behavior as “disgusting, shameful, and sick.”
The sentence takes into account the time he already served while being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
Despite beginning his sentence, Combs has filed appeals contesting both the verdict and the duration of his imprisonment.
