Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has drawn messages of concern and prayers from colleagues after sharing a video of herself in a wheelchair while celebrating her 25th birthday.
The actress, who had stayed away from the media space for some time, disclosed that she had been unable to move around freely for several months after what began as a minor pain developed into a more serious problem.
Daniels marked her birthday by posting an emotional video on Instagram, where she reflected on the difficult period and how her condition had affected her freedom of movement.
Explaining how the situation began, the mother of two said the pain worsened following the last public event she organised, the Children’s Day Carnival.
“For several months now, I have lost my freedom to move around as I please. It started as something minor, very minor, but eventually led to this. Things took a major turn after the last public gathering I hosted, my Children’s Day Carnival. Since then, it has been one test after another.”
Her account prompted an outpouring of support from fans and entertainment personalities, many of whom used the occasion to wish her a happy birthday and pray for her recovery.
Among the celebrities who sent messages were actresses Wofai Fada, Chizi Alichi, Iyabo Ojo, Uche Elendu and Toyin Abraham, as well as reality television star Phyna, Queen Mercy Atang and celebrity chef Hilda Bacci.
Uche Elendu prayed for Daniels to experience divine healing and described the new year of her life as one that could bring renewed blessings.
“Happy birthday darling. Gods healing hands are upon you . This will be the best birth year of your life. More Grace,” she wrote.

Destiny Etiko also joined the well-wishers, asking for the actress to recover quickly.
“Quick recovery darling. Happy blessed birthday to u,” she wished her.
Iyabo Ojo, in her birthday message, expressed hope that Daniels would receive complete healing and enjoy more love and blessings.
“He will perfect your healing, fill your heart with love and blessing you with unending love and blessings once again happy birthday Queen,” she wrote.
Queen Mercy Atang also offered prayers for Daniels, wishing her strength, happiness and healing while encouraging her to appreciate the joys of motherhood.
“Happy Birthday my darling. I pray God’s Divine healing upon your life Amen. Enjoy motherhood my darling, and cherish the beautiful joy of having your babies close to you. It’s truly one of the sweetest blessings. May God fill your new age with healing, strength and abundant happiness. Amen,” she wrote.
Daniels’ disclosure has shifted attention from the usual birthday celebrations to the health difficulties she says she has faced in recent months. Her colleagues’ responses have largely centred on encouragement, prayers and hopes that she regains her ability to move around freely.
The actress, who began her career in Nollywood as a child, is a mother of two.
